Gratitude? What does it mean to you?

How to be Grateful? It seems so easy, doesn’t it?! Us Yogis/Yoginis LOVE to throw Gratitude, Peace, Love & Light around like that’s all we’re ever experiencing. Or so I’ve heard so many people complain about this and criticize those of us who express these sentiments. I’ve heard people complain that gratitude loses its power when everyone is constantly throwing it around. Isn’t that interesting??

I’ll tell you that I am a very grateful person. Truly. However, feeling grateful doesn’t always come easily. I think the cynics sometimes overlook this. I try to focus on gratitude because I know that’s what will benefit me and make my life a better place. But, sometimes finding something to feel grateful for is like pulling teeth! It’s PAINFUL. All I want to do is sit there and feel sorry for myself {for whatever reason I have at the time}. I’m not ashamed of this…and I’ll tell you why….

1. I see that this happens for MANY people. There are a lot of you out there who choose to play the victim. And yes, I feel like doing it sometimes too! The only difference may be that I really work to change my perspective. Sometimes it’s more challenging and other times it’s easy. Sometimes I just have to cry it out and other times I might need to throw a fit! The point is, I always come back to GRATITUDE.

2. I am okay with being imperfect. I teach these things {Yoga, Gratitude, love, light} BECAUSE I NEED THEM! I am passionate about this because I have seen how consciously focusing on these things has changed MY life!

Life is a mysterious, emotional and complex existence. We can only do the very best we can and see what transpires.

Some days I wake up and easily feel the Gratitude. Like this morning when I posted this picture….

good morning

The point I am trying to make is that Gratitude must be cultivated, focused on…..

Don’t give up if you feel there is nothing to be grateful for, if you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, if you are struggling with moving your attention towards it. JUST KEEP TRYING>>>>>JUST KEEP FOCUSING ON WHAT YOU HAVE TO BE GRATEFUL FOR. Even when it hurts! It will change your perspective and your life..

You are alive. You are well. You are breathing. You have people who love you. You have clothes to wear. You have food to eat. You are here for a reason. KEEP SEEING THE GOOD!

I am grateful for the ability to know that even when I’m down I CAN remember what I have, if I CHOOSE to.

I am grateful for so many things that 2014 has brought me…

~The beginning and creation of my online business

~A clearer understanding of my worth and what I deserve

~The ability to see how I’m living and what needs to change in my life, and the STRENGTH to change it {most of it} 😉

~The presence to acknowledge my faults, accept myself for them and do the best I can to see how they’ve shaped me into a better person

~The most intelligent people I’ve met that have changed my life for the better

~People who love and accept me

~Another day to breathe and be me

What are you grateful for??

When your perspective changes so does your ENTIRE YOUniverse

When your perspective changes so does your ENTIRE YOUniverse.

Perspective is EVERYTHING.

I’ve heard that so many times in my life and I always just kind of brushed it off. “Yeah, yeah. Okay….Perspective is everything.” It wasn’t until I really opened my eyes, my mind, and my heart, that I realized how much truth was in that statement. Perspective literally is EVERYTHING. Everything in your life, every bit of your happiness or unhappiness, all of your relationships, what you believe you deserve and how you see yourself determines everything you get in this life. How you see things colors your entire world and that becomes what you believe the world to be. It’s true. Your truth.

How many times have you convinced yourself that something was true because you believed in it so strongly, only to later realize how incorrect you actually were?

Have you ever felt so sure that what you believed in was the ‘truth’ and then something happens to open your mind to a different perspective, another option you never considered before? Or maybe you couldn’t see it because your mind was closed to it? Then one day, as if by magic, someone or something shifted your perspective and where you were once BLIND, ‘WALLAH!’, you now SEE!

perspective

This has happened to me more than once in my life. I do my best not to condemn myself for it because I truly believe that we see things and soften to certain ideas when we are ready to receive them and the time is right.

However, when this happens it helps me to realize just how much everything is only my perspective.

YOUR WHOLE WORLD IS ONLY YOUR PERSPECTIVE.

What is Success?

success is

Success & Fulfillment

It’s an interesting topic to ponder, as we all have different views on what this means to us.

What is Success?

Happiness is Success. From my perspective, being successful means being happy & fulfilled.

For much of my life I saw success to be making a lot of money. But, when I had money I realized it doesn’t always = success, because it doesn’t always = happiness. I got the nice car, new clothes, the nice house….but I felt empty and life felt meaningless. I began to realize that nothing mattered, nothing felt “successful” if I wasn’t enjoying myself, if I didn’t feel fulfilled. I wanted success but what did this mean to me?? As I asked myself these questions my perspective began to change.

I left a marriage, a cozy little house in Sherman Oaks, CA, jobs and plenty of romantic relationships, friendshipsand situations that may have seemed shiny and successful from the outside but felt like HUGE failures on the inside. I’ve given away everything I’ve owned in the past with the exception of few things just o feel free and unconfined. My journey to success has taken on a different meaning and it changes every day that goes by.
