Saturn Period & Mercury Rx :: Introspection & Solitude MAGNIFIED!

saturn-3d.jpgTEXT BYW

Monday, January 27th, begins the Universal Saturn Period.
NOW, until March 20th, flow with the energy of the Universe…

The Saturn Period supports:

Discipline & Organization
Endurance & Perseverance
Spiritual Study
Strength
Solitude & Introspection
Listening & Patience
Learning from Challenges & Mistakes

In addition to moving into the Saturn Period, February 6th Mercury {Planet of Communication} goes retrograde. When Mercury goes retrograde it begins to move backwards in the sky and is equivalent to going to ‘sleep’. Which means that we begin to receive a double dose of the energy moving inward. It is a time for introspection.

Mercury will be in Pisces which will cause us to examine our dreams and pull us into our subconscious. We may have significant dreams and your psychic perception may be high. Don’t get trapped in your fantasies.

Use the discipline available during the Saturn Period to come back down to earth. Once Mercury moves into Aquarius, Feb 12, you will begin to examine your big ideas and dreams. It will be easier to put an intellectual spin on things and use the power of your mind. Radical ideas will come back up and now is the time for REvising them.

Mercury Retrograde lasts through the end of February and is a time for:

REthinking, REdoing, REwinding, REvising & REconnecting.

Be Careful of miscommunications and practice being CLEAR. If you feel you may have misinterpreted something someone has said take a moment to REflect BEFORE reacting. It’s EASY to take things and say things the wrong way during this time. LISTEN MORE THAN YOU SPEAK.

Once Mercury goes direct there will be some relief but we will still be in our Universal Saturn Period until March 20th. So, stay focused, Spend time alone, Listen well and use this time to get organized, review mistakes that have been made and use them as lessons, finish your projects!

FULL MOON IN CANCER, A window of opportunity (January 15, 2014)

full moon cancer

REMINDER

New Moons and Full Moons often influence us for the 3 days before and 3 days after the actual event.
Full Moon at 26° of Cancer

In the Pacific Time Zone (PST), the Moon will be full at 8:52 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15. With this Full Moon, the Sun in Capricorn will be in opposition (180°) to the Moon in Cancer. To further clarify how this Full Moon will impact you on a personal level, locate 26° of Capricorn and 26° of Cancer in your birth/natal chart. The issues associated with those two houses are going to be most impacted by this Full Moon’s presence.

All Full Moons represent a time when we need to explore how we can create a healthier balance between two seemingly disparate areas of our lives. With this Full Moon in Cancer, the challenge is to balance our need for security, home, and our feelings (Cancer) with our need for achievement, the public, and our responsibilities (Capricorn).

Cancer represents the receptive female principle, which births, supports, and protects life. It reminds us to honor all aspects of the physical world as sacred, including our body and Mother Earth. As the first water sign, Cancer also represents the development of our understanding that feelings are indicators of what is harmful or helpful to us. Family, in whatever way we define it, is often a major priority with Cancer, which serves as our touchstone for determining correct action in the world.

Capricorn, on the other hand, represents the proactive male principle. With Capricorn, we evolve into responsible adults, able to take care of ourselves and others. This sign represents the capacity to have an internalized sense of authority, duty, and integrity. We are individuating. We are stepping away from our “family” and into our own power, and we have matured to the point where we no longer look outside ourselves for approval or validation. We realize that we are the director and creator of our life.

Although different in many ways, these two signs do have one thing in common, the need for security. However, their point of focus is in different places. Where Cancer’s focus is on creating private, internal security, Capricorn’s focus is to create public, external security. But if one side of the equation is overemphasized, the other will suffer. For example, if we lose our focus on Cancer, we may disregard our own feelings and needs. This may cause us to either overvalue or undervalue the rights and concerns of others. Or if we ignore the needs of Capricorn, then we may not assume a healthy amount of responsibility in the world around us. This can result in feeling helpless or playing the role of a victim. This Full Moon in Cancer will require finding a balance. It will very likely shed light on those parts of our lives where we need to soften our shells, but it will also illuminate where we need to set firmer boundaries.

If you haven’t had a chance to read the last New Moon Update, it would be helpful to do so now because there are aspects discussed in that Update that are still impacting us at this time: NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN-Plus a peak at 2014 according to astrology and numerology (January 1, 2014). For example, although the power of the ongoing grand cross is waning, it is still in effect. Additionally, the very strong influence of cardinal energy will continue for the remainder of this month.

Around the time of this Full Moon (Wednesday, January 15), the planet Venus will be conjunct (0°) both the Sun and Pluto and in opposition (180°) to the Moon. And because Pluto is one of the planets that is part of the cardinal grand cross (see last paragraph), Venus becomes very influential. For example, peace-loving Venus in Capricorn is squaring (90°) assertive Mars in Libra. This is a difficult aspect that will bring problematic relationship issues to the forefront, especially if feelings have not been discussed in a constructive manner. It is likely that issues with social obligation (Venus in Cap) may clash with the need for balance in our partnerships (Mars in Libra). We are being asked to take charge of ourselves without rubbing people the wrong way. For some, this could be a time when you realize you have been too cooperative and you need to stand up for yourself. For others, this could be a time when you see how you have negatively impacted others by focusing on competition rather than cooperation. Building useful, healthy alliances is the goal now. However, all squares represent turning points. Therefore, this could be a time when new solutions become apparent or when we recognize that it’s time to end relationships that are no longer serving us.

The good news is that while this Venus-Mars square and the New Moon in Cancer may stir up feelings and issues in our relationships, Saturn is present to assist us. It trines (120°) the Moon and Jupiter, and it also sextiles (60°) the Sun. This wonderfully supportive combination of aspects will facilitate the release of old beliefs and fears. It will serve as a stabilizing force for our emotions, while also encouraging everyone to act in responsible and ethical ways.

On Sunday, January 19, the Sun leaves Capricorn and moves into the air sign Aquarius. Our attention will shift from achieving by ourselves to achieving as part of a team. Consciousness expands, and we are increasingly aware of our interconnectedness. We can more easily see ourselves as part of communities, and we are willing to seek out mutually beneficial relationships. This is a good month to focus on your dreams/wishes, spend time with like-minded friends, attend “new age” classes, participate in humanitarian efforts, and/or break away from your typical routine and try something new.

Overall, this Full Moon in Cancer is asking us to find a balance between our need to pull inward and our need to reach outward. But this Full Moon may be better understood as part of a sequence of astrological events occurring this month.

At the time of the New Moon in Capricorn (January 1), many of us received a cosmic wake-up call in the form of the cardinal grand cross. We were given a chance to face some big issues in our life and set some long-range goals. The presence of so much cardinal energy clearly said “either move or be moved”! And many of us have found that we had the power to accomplish some great things.
With this Full Moon in Cancer (January 15), our focus should be on clarifying our emotions to make sure our body, mind, and spirit are working in harmony with those goals that we set at the time of the last New Moon. This is important because it will help you get your heart behind those goals.
January 21-22 is an important time period. Without going into detail, there are many aspects occurring between cardinal signs that make this a window of opportunity. It is a peak period for using that cardinal energy that is present all month to take your goals to the next level. The universe is providing you with a lot of assistance right now, but you have to consciously decide to accept its help . . . and then go for it!

So use this Full Moon to get your emotional house in order regarding what you want to accomplish. The presence of Saturn in the mix will stabilize the usually intense feelings associated with a Full Moon in Cancer by building a stable bridge between our inner and outer worlds. And it will also provide us all with a dose of practicality that will help us establish external structures to support our actions and decisions. It’s important now to have faith that, “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.” (Paulo Coelho)

ACCEPT YOURSELF!

Self AcceptanceEasier said than done!
Either way, it IS possible.

Those of you who tend to be hard on your self, I can relate.

It’s been YEARS of purposely and consciously recognizing how hard I am on myself and then having the strength and courage to replace the negative thoughts with more supportive ones.

At first this felt awkward, to say the LEAST.
I would literally stand in the mirror, look my self directly in the eyes and say,

“I LOVE YOU”

It sounds cheesy and it sounded cheesy to me at the time too. But, I didn’t care because I wanted to try ANYTHING that might make me feel better. So I did it. I knew I wasn’t happy with myself. I just hadn’t yet realized quite how much I was dissatisfied.

At first, I realized how weird it was to even look at myself that way, directly in the eye. I didn’t feel it when I said it. I felt heavy judgment arise.

I was uncomfortable with myself and it was the first time that I was glaringly aware of it.

I kept trying. The next step was to feel it. So, I worked on that. It brought me to tears. I was stunned that I had never known just how much I really didn’t accept myself. Eventually, as with anything it got easier and more comfortable to take.

But, it was interesting to me just how hard some of us can be on ourselves. I’ve seen it in MANY of my friends and family. I’ve been on a mission to accept myself EVEN FOR MY MISTAKES, ESPECIALLY for my mistakes, ever since. Certain days are easier, some are more challenging.

If you can relate to this feeling of disconnection from your true essence and the beauty that you hold within, keep going. KEEP GIVING YOURSELF CREDIT AND APPRECIATION.

Notice the things you say to yourself whether out loud or internally they BOTH are important. If you notice you are being unsupportive or hateful towards yourself, CHANGE YOUR WORDS. Change them until you FEEL it. Then KEEP repeating what is wonderful about yourself.

Keep telling Yourself you are worth loving, You are lovable…
Look yourself right in the eye and say “I LOVE YOU”.

Who cares if you feel stupid!!!!! Who cares if you think it’s not the ‘cool’ thing to do or if someone found out they’d think you were ‘fruity’ or ‘fluffy’ or ‘ridiculous’!!! That’s their judgment.

Live for YOU.

When you love you, when you accept you, when you value you, others will too. The happier you are the more happiness you have to bring to those around you.
