HUMBLE WARRIOR POSE
Do you live like it matters? Where is your heart??
Are you letting life get to you or are you remembering you are in control of your life? Staying positive and moving forward can feel hard at times.
These past few weeks life has taken me to my knees and in many ways, humbled me. It’s so easy to get caught up on what is going wrong. And as I’ve stated many times recently, I’ve felt like my nerves have been rattled from the inside out. My sanity tested. My patience (or lack thereof) has been taken to its max. My ability to accept things as they are and flow with life have been challenged. I’ve been given the opportunity to live what I’ve learned, what I know and what I teach.
I’m always a student first. LIFE AND ITS CHALLENGES HAVE A WAY OF BRINGING UP ALL OF YOUR FEARS, IN ORDER THAT YOU MAY TRANSFORM THEM INTO OPPORTUNITIES TO LIVE COURAGEOUSLY.
As long as I’m alive I know that life will give me this opportunity to step up courageously time and time again.
I’ll take the challenge. I’ll take the opportunity. Sometimes through gritted teeth. Sometimes through trembling hands. Sometimes through self doubt and feelings of inadequacy. But, I’ll take it.
Anytime we are growing past our comfort zone it’s scary. Anytime life asks us to step up and out and live to our highest potential we meet some resistance, whether we’re aware of it or not.
Last night I barely slept. Between transitioning into a new space & adjusting to the imbalances & the unexpected not so exciting surprises, working on my self through intense meditation & yoga, a sick cat who woke me up puking right on the bed next to me and nightmares let’s just say it hasn’t been exactly “blissful”….. I wasn’t even sure how I was going to teach this morning.
I was to be at Lululemon Athletica to teach a class to the Chandler community at 10am this morning. I pride myself on being prepared and teaching my classes with care. However, with everything going on I hardly felt prepared. The moment I arrived and saw the students smiling faces, their discipline to be there on a Sunday morning on a holiday weekend ready to go & their eagerness to learn and be taught, I instantly felt relieved. A sense of gratitude overwhelmed me.
I realized, yet again, it doesn’t even matter how challenging things are because every time I am teaching, I instantly feel better. It’s as if my energy is transformed!
I am SO VERY GRATEFUL for the opportunity I’ve been given to live my passion and from my heart.
When something is right, you just feel it. It sinks into your bones and oozes out your pores. You know it in your gut. It fills you up and swells your heart. NO thing can replace that. I spent a large part of my life without this. Unsure of what this passion was for me. Others saw it in me before I ever could.
I encourage you to find what it is that makes you glow. Occasionally, this requires finding a new career. But, not always. Maybe you find your passion through a new hobby.
What makes you breathe easier??
What makes you feel lighter and free?
Money can’t buy it.
WHEN YOU’RE DOING SOMETHING YOU LOVE AND LIVING FROM YOUR HEART, TIME JUST SEEMS TO BE LOST. You lose yourself in it, yet you’re so vividly aware of being there. Because you feel alive! No drug, drink, person or material thing can make you feel this way. Thinking it will is just an illusion. It may feel like that, but the feeling is fleeting. It’s temporary.
YOUR PASSION LIVES IN YOUR SOUL.
When you’re living your passion, when you’re living from your heart you don’t seem to care if you’re making money, even if you REALLY need the monetary exchange. You just feel happy because you’re there. You’re YOU. You’re on your right path. Now, don’t get me wrong. You deserve to make money and you should. But, the difference is that even when you aren’t, you STILL enjoy doing it.
I’m thankful for the people who’ve encouraged me along the way. Some of them met MUCH resistance from me.
Resistance arises when you’re challenged to live your life to the FULLEST. Resistance is just fear.
FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAYS!
I wish you a life FILLED with nothing but your highest potential. A life lived from your TRUEST self—Your Soul’s purpose.
11 TIPS TO COME CLOSER TO YOUR PASSION AND LIVE FROM YOUR HEART
1. BE STILL- Take time to be alone and get still. Get to know yourself and what you like and don’t like, what you want and don’t want. Just feel the silence. Notice what comes up here and honor it. Write it down and know it’s there for a reason.
2. BE HEALTHY- Exercise is crucial. It doesn’t have to be hard or it can be if you’d like. Whether it’s yoga, tai chi, zumba, cardio, cross fit, personal training, a walk in the park or a swim in the pool. Get active! Your body has innate wisdom and in order to tap into it you have to move it. Be in touch with it. Tune into it. Know what it’s saying to you. Listen to your gut instinct. I love yoga {for obvious reasons} because it allows you to build strength and flexibility while still encouraging you to honor your body’s needs. Choose what’s right for you and do it! Eat right. Take your vitamins, eat vegetables, lower your sugar intake and minimize your alcohol. Your health is important.
3. BE POSITIVE- Negative thinking plagues ALL of us from time to time. Notice when your thoughts have sank to the depths of despair. Notice when your comments and thoughts are jabs at your self jokingly or not. Stop the negative thoughts. Don’t judge them. Just notice them and replace them with a positive. See how it feels to you when you change the thought. Notice how often you are sabotaging yourself with the negativity. Practice. Practice. Practice. Be patient, this takes time.
4. BE OPEN- Be willing to learn and open to new things. Smile at your resistance to new things, even through the tears. You have to try things in order to know what it is you feel passionately about. You will know if something isn’t right for you and you don’t have to do it. But be aware of whether it’s not right or you’re just resisting it out of a made up fear. Fear is there to guide you and protect you. So honor it. But, if it’s something your heart really wants and fear is driving you or holding you back. Breathe and Do it anyways!
5. BE CONNECTED- Stay connected with friends and loved ones. Ask the people who know and love you what they feel you’re good at. Listen to others when they express to you what it is you’re good at. I had MANY people tell me I should be a yoga teacher before I ever was one and many close friends who thought I was already a teacher because they saw my passion before I could. Stay connected enough to LISTEN to your loved ones.
6. BE FUN- Take time to have some fun. Your spirit needs it and when you are having fun you are in a vibrational state that attracts good things to you. A light hearted and fun vibration is your truest self. Living this attracts all things true to you, straight to you.
7. BE DISCIPLINED- Make time for fun and time for business. Set specific days/times to take care of things important. Waste less of your time on the phone or watching TV. Work on things that matter to you. The more you do this, the more prepared you’ll be when opportunity knocks.
8. BE IMPERFECT- Let yourself be imperfect. See a failure as a lesson, a learning curve, an opportunity to do things better or differently next time around.
9. BE OF SERVICE- Do things for other people and your community. Notice what you would be willing to do where it wouldn’t matter whether you made money or not. What would you do for free and still enjoy doing?
10. BE SELFISH- Just because you’re doing things for others doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do for yourself. Be strong enough to say NO to the things you don’t want to do. When you say no to what you don’t want to do you have more time to do the things you do want to do.
11. BE A STUDENT- Take a class. Learn a new technique you’re interested in. Receive energy work to remove blocks and raise your vibration. Talk to a counselor. Get an intuitive reading. Work with a coach or consultant to understand your strengths and weaknesses so you can take the steps toward your self improvement.
Be Brave. Be Bold. Be Courageous. Be Passionate.
LIVE LIKE IT MATTERS. LIVE FROM YOUR HEART!
It’s the only way to truly live.
