The Moon is New in Aquarius, the Water Bearer, on Tuesday, January 20th, at 5:14am {pacific time}.
New Moons are a time of starting over, new beginnings, taking action steps towards your dreams and goals, creating and renewal!
SUPER MOON
This full moon happens to be a SUPER MOON which means that the intensity level is heightened. It’s a time when the moon is brighter and closer to the Earth than usual and we are said to be able to feel its magical magnetic pull even stronger and more potent.
The Moon is hooked up with the Sun in the Intelligent, Progressive, Freedom Oriented, Erratic and Peculiar sign of Aquarius. Things are always a little odd and off beat when this sign is around. The Aquarian energy is cool and detached, preferring not to get emotions too involved and opting for logic instead. A bit of a brief relief from the recent heavy planetary influences we’ve been experiencing.

This New Moon lightens the mood and brings a breath of fresh air. We are more constructive with our emotions now and we get that we need to understand our feelings first before we can resolve any issues we’re having. Our emotions find more stability now and we are willing to work hard to achieve our goals in life without allowing an overly emotional perspective to hold us back. Driven to succeed we don’t need to be the center of attention and are perfectly okay with moving towards our ambitions steadily and in a more quiet manner. Shaking things up none-the-less but we’re inclined to do it in a more responsible way than in the usual Aquarian stubborn rebellious style.

However, a stabilizing sextile (60°) between the New Moon and Saturn may make this a time when our unique ideas may actually be responsible, realistic, and useful. We’re learning a lot about our self and our limitations now and we’re willing to truly earn our achievements. However, our mind and emotions are a bit at odds because even though we find more stability emotionally our thoughts can still be a bit inconsistent or over the top. Swinging from one end to the other, we change our minds frequently. Aquarian energy is erratic and unpredictable. You never know what you will get and you must be prepared to expect the unexpected! Things can easily take a turn and structures come crumbling down in a moment’s notice. Look to the area of your life this moon will be most prominent {below}.

You can make a strong connection with your intuition, psychic ability, subconscious mind and desires now but you must not allow reality to escape you. You are more willing to take a chance and risk big. Make sure you think twice about the risks you are willing to take.
We value our friendships and social interactions are important to us at this New Moon. Our communication flows easily and we express ourselves more gracefully. Big changes and unexpected shifts in perspective come within our social circle, relationships and humanity as a whole. We can make a brand new start on what we value and find valuable in our life. Our self-worth is brought to the forefront and we forge ahead remembering that compassion and community is important to knowing our worth.
Take action towards your dreams instead of sitting around dreaming about the possibilities. If you put in the work the New Moon is behind you to make your dreams a physical reality. With Mercury Retrograde work on those things behind the scenes that you have left undone. Re-organizing and Reflecting on how you will move forward once Mercury goes direct, Feb 11th. You must think bigger and be adventurous, independent and free in your approach of the unknown. Change is inevitable. Conscious change and creation is a CHOICE. Be an Agent of Change. If we choose stubborn resistance to this we will be in for a BIG surprise. Through meditation, dreams and intuition inventive solutions are possible, a chance to see the future more clearly. MERCURY RETROGRADE
Jan 21st to Feb 11th
Mercury is our planet of communication, transportation, contracts, buying & selling. When it goes retrograde it’s equivalent to going to sleep. Mercury’s energy begins moving backwards {or inward} and our thinking and communications become foggy and less clear. This means that THIS IS A TIME WHERE MISCOMMUNICATION IS HIGHLY LIKELY, forgetfulness is increased, and buying electronics or signing important contracts should be avoided. Practice patience and kindness and remember not to take things personally because it will be easy to misinterpret things now.
Obviously, life must go on so if you MUST sign contracts or buy electronics pay attention to the DETAILS. Read and re-read any contracts you may have to sign and make sure you have a back-up plan {warranty, return policies etc}.
Mercury retrograde also means it’s a GREAT time to REthink, REdo, REwind & REconnect. You may find people or feelings from your past come forward as if out of nowhere. A MENTAL REWIND. Anything left unresolved will have to be dealt with. IT’S A GREAT TIME FOR MEDITATION AND CONTEMPLATION AND REST.

LOVE
Venus {planet of Love} is in the sign of Aquarius and is hooked up with Mercury. We are ready to communicate our sweet feelings and verbalize our desires. We can do this in a detached, yet connected way now feeling like a part of something beautiful while still maintaining our independence and own unique perspective. Enjoy some fun with your loved one and shake things up by doing something new and exciting!
If single, you are likely going to be drawn towards a more intellectual type who is intelligent and possibly a little odd. Once mercury goes retrograde Jan 21st use CAUTION before making any commitments. There could be a tendency to want to jump ahead fearlessly. Have fun but give it time, WAIT to make a final choice until after Feb 11th.

YOGA EXERCISE: Shaking on your Back
Begin by lying on your back with your arms and legs extended straight up towards the sky. Hands are directly over the shoulders, feet are directly over the hips. Shake! Just start shaking your arms and legs, hands and feet. Shake as much as you can for 3 minutes straight. When you’re done, lie still in savasana {arms by your side, legs straight down} for 1min and allow the blood to flow. Take time to sit and breath DEEPLY in and out through your nose to calm the nervous system.
BENEFITS: Cleansing and purifying the blood, moving the lymph, getting the blood moving and relaxing the muscles and body.
