New Moons are always about New Beginnings and taking action steps towards your dreams. This Moon is connected to the Sun in Aquarius. Aquarius is about independence, liberation, breaking the rules, living life according to your own terms, innovation, intellect, creating for the benefit of humanity, and embracing the ‘weirdo’ in you. This energy can also bring about rebelliousness, wreaking havoc, erratic behavior, too much headiness and not enough heart, acting so eccentrically that you feel like an outcast.

This Aquarius New Moon brings a readiness to take action and initiate the new and make needed changes. You are ready to revolutionize within and have this reflect in our outer world. This New Moon brings a sharpness. We are feeling mentally alert and ready to take the BIG risks we’ve been only contemplating up until this point. You are meant to shine in your own unique way.

We may want to deal with emotional matters by thinking or using the intellect. But, that will not do. You need to find a way to integrate head and heart so that you can live in a place where you feel free to be yourself and express your passion, drive, and ambitions. YogaSTARology: Aquarius is connected to the shins, calves, ankles, circulatory system, and nervous system.  

Affirmation:

“Total healing occurs in the area of my calves, ankles, shins, circulatory system and nervous system.”

Exercise: Lunge-Calve stretch

Directions: Begin in table top pose, on your hands and knees. Step the right foot up and fully ground the sole of your foot. Make sure the knee is directly over the ankle or behind it, but NOT in front of it. Both feet are in line with your hips. Hands are on the ground next to either side of your front foot. Lift your back knee and press back through your back heel, stretching the calve and ankle. Take a couple of deep breaths. To go deeper, let the back knee soften and bend a little and pull in from your low belly, roll up to high lunge. Hands on your hips until you find your balance. When ready, extend arms overhead.

Benefits: Strengthening legs and shin muscles. Stretching calves and ankles.
